This little guy showed up looking a bit wistful — droopy eyelids, rosy cheeks, striped overalls a size too big, one paw wrapped firmly around a balloon string like he's not letting go of it for anything. There's something about that soft, slightly sad-but-content expression that I really wanted to hold onto in paint.
About This Painting
Watercolor and gouache mixed media on a 2.5"x3.5" ACEO card. His fur is soft layered watercolor washes with darker glazing around the eye patches and ears, while the balloon and the ochre stripes of his overalls are opaque gouache for a bit of pop against all that softness.
This is a one-of-a-kind original — once it's gone, this exact painting won't exist again.
