A tall stack of French toast with a pat of butter melting on top, syrup running down every layer, and berries scattered around the plate — this one is basically a love letter to weekend mornings. I kept building up the syrup in glossy layers until it looked like it was still dripping, which might be my favorite part of painting food.
About This Painting
Watercolor and gouache mixed media on a 2.5"x3.5" ACEO card. The toast is built from warm golden-brown watercolor washes with darker egg-batter edges, while the syrup, butter, and berries are worked in dense, glossy gouache so they sit forward and catch the eye first.
This is a one-of-a-kind original — once it's gone, this exact painting won't exist again.
