Four cats, one ledge, zero interest in turning around to look at me. I loved the idea of painting a whole little lineup from behind — two fluffy white cats bookending a ginger tabby and a calico, all perched shoulder to shoulder like they'd claimed the best seat in the house. There's something so calming about a row of cats just watching the world go by together.
About This Painting
Watercolor and gouache mixed media on a 2.5"x3.5" ACEO card. Each cat's fur is built from layered watercolor washes in its own color family, with fine gouache linework flicked in on top for individual strands of fur, and soft grey shadows underneath to seat them all on the same ledge.
